Introduction
Cutback Bitumen RC-70 is a rapid-curing liquid bituminous binder manufactured by Pars Bitumen, one of Iran’s leading bitumen producers and exporters. RC-70 is produced by blending penetration-grade bitumen with a suitable volatile solvent (usually naphtha or gasoline) to reduce viscosity, enabling easy handling, mixing, and application at lower temperatures.
This product is widely used in road construction, surface dressing, and prime coating, especially in areas where heating facilities are limited.
Properties and Performance
Cutback Bitumen RC-70 has a low viscosity compared to conventional bitumen, ensuring fast curing due to the rapid evaporation of its solvent component. Once the solvent evaporates, the remaining bitumen layer provides strong adhesion, durability, and excellent waterproofing characteristics.
RC-70 is ideal for tropical and moderate climates, where quick setting and early traffic release are required.
